For any up-and-coming program, there's always a signature victory over a top-notch opponent that opens a lot of eyes.

The St. Albans girls basketball team and Red Dragon Coach Scott James may have gotten it on Monday night.

St. Albans picked up a huge win at the Hoops Classic at the Charleston Civic Center with a 63-52 overtime victory over Class AA No. 3 Sissonville.

"That's a great victory for the St. Albans program," James said. "We just go from there. It was a big win."

The Red Dragons haven't been synonymous with winning over the years, and towards the end of regulation, it looked like St. Albans might crumble again.
