The athletics landscape for high school girls has changed
dramatically since Becky Genet took over as Perry Central High
School's volleyball coach in 1978.
At that time, girls' prep sports was still in its relative
infancy.
"Back when it started, it was such a unique thing to be able to
give this to the girls. The girls appreciated it," said Genet, who
will be honored at halftime of the Commodores' boys' basketball game
against visiting Evansville Day School on Saturday night for posting
her 500th career victory this past season.
