Membership Drive Starts at Girls Inc.

Over the past several decades, Girls Incorporated has shifted from an organization focusing on homemaking skills to one that is dedicated to helping young women grow into strong, smart and self- assured members of society. Girls Inc. of Santa Fe, which has been at 301 Hillside Ave. since 1957, served 460 girls during the past fiscal year.

Executive director Anne Stewart would like to see an increase in the number of girls served during the year.

At a special pizza party and orientation program at 6 p.m. Sept. 25, Stewart will explain how volunteers can help Girls Inc. expand programs and services. Community members who attend the gathering will learn about the light office work, building ...
