Los Alamos Belies Trends

In the entire country, the city with the highest concentration of millionaires is ... Los Alamos! Who knew? After all, as one indignant (but anonymous) letter writer (from Los Alamos) pointed out, Los Alamos is a very unglamorous place where next to nobody is living what we would think of as the lifestyle of the rich (or famous). Only one restaurant in town stays open after 8 p.m., for example, and those millionaires live mostly in substandard and antiquated government-built housing. (The letter writer called them "dumpy" and went on to complain about The Hill's "burned, bug-riddled" post- Cerro Grande environment.)
