Hundreds of artists have painted New Mexico's landscapes. One has only to go to an art gallery or an arts and crafts fair to find images of the hot sun-red Sandia Mountains, a snow-caked Taos Pueblo, the narrow, leafy path that is Santa Fe's Canyon Road, wildflowers on stretch of desert.
