Santa Fe Girls Fall to Bears

Santa Fe High just hasn't been able to shake off the blues.

On more than one occasion, the Class 5-A girls squad has come back from the first half flat, Demonettes coach Bill Dimas has said after games earlier in the season.

Tuesday was another one of those nights.

This time the blues came in the second period as Santa Fe fell 50- 31 to La Cueva at Toby Roybal Memorial Gymnasium in both programs' first District 2-5A contest.

"We had second-quarter blues," Dimas said. "We just went out of our game. We lost our patience. We weren't as disciplined as were in the first quarter."

The Demonettes, now 4-12 overall and 0-1 in District 2-5A, went into the second period with a close 12-11 lead. ...
