DALLAS - It takes more than a few dairy cows to launch a "Summer
of Cheese."
Pizza Hut, the nation's largest pizza maker, undertook its new
promotional campaign as if preparing for war - an apt analogy in a
marketplace where the question of whether one company provides better
ingredients sparked a protracted legal battle.
In its latest effort to tickle the taste buds of America's pizza
connoisseurs, the Dallas-based company undertook a delicate operation
to purchase millions of pounds of cheese to pile on pies this summer
without upsetting the intracicies of the cheese market.
