BLOOMINGTON - Wireless computers are "hot" in the technology
field. They're also hot in the classroom.
Sheridan Elementary School teacher Curt Broughton said wireless
laptops have turned his fifth-grade students into "engaged learners."
"That means they're active participants in their education," he
said.
The class has used the computers to create presentations about
Lewis and Clark, who led the first United States overland exploration
of the West and Pacific Northwest. Other presentations have focused
on famous blacks, American Indians and the drug prevention program
called DARE.
