THE SCOOP ON ICE CREAM
* It takes 12 pounds of milk to make one gallon of ice cream.
* People normally lick ice cream cones more than 50 times before
finishing the cone.
* Americans eat an average of six gallons of ice cream per person
each year, which is more than any other country.
* More than 90 percent of Americans consume ice cream each year.
* The U.S. ice cream and frozen dessert industry was more than a
$20 billion industry in 2000.
* July is the month in which the most ice cream is sold and was
declared "National Ice Cream Month" by former President Ronald Reagan
in 1984.
