STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - You don't need a Las Vegas oddsmaker to get
the latest line on the University of Illinois basketball team.
The 18th-ranked Illini need to go to the free-throw line more
often.
Nearly a third of the way through the Big Ten Conference season,
Illinois has been outscored 109-71 at the free-throw line in league
action while shooting 50 fewer attempts. Coach Bill Self would like
to see that pattern start to change when the Illini face struggling
Penn State at 11:15 a.m. today at the Bryce Jordan Center.
