Central Illinois folks in D.C. say daily life 'on the edge'

SPRINGFIELD - People from Central Illinois who live in the nation's capital say life is "extremely on edge."

The threat of terrorist retaliation is constantly on the minds of people as the United States enters war with Iraq, said Matt Bisbee of Paxton, a spokesman for U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson of Urbana.

"Every time I turn around, I see a capitol police officer," said Bisbee, as he waited this week to enter the Longworth Office Building.
