There isn't much denying that Madison County is becoming an
infamous "judicial hell hole" - Illinois, that is, not Iowa.
But you must be careful where you say that.
Heads of the American Tort Reform Association, U.S. Chamber of
Commerce, Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Illinois Civil Justice
League marched into Madison County recently to conduct a press
conference condemning the judicial system there. They wound up
getting a citation from one of the local class-action attorneys - a
subpoena.
They were subpoenaed in a lawsuit in which none of the
participants had any involvement or knew anything about. Maybe they
were surprised, but people who follow the class-action lawsuit
