Smoking -- the choice of individuals or governments?

BLOOMINGTON -- Mike Kerber, Jeff Hainline and Kelly Herrick were sitting at a bar in downtown Bloomington on Friday, having a late lunch.

There was an ashtray on their table, but none of them had any intention of using it. They agreed cigarettes are unhealthy, but they disagreed on whether people should be allowed to smoke.

"If they banned smoking, I would cheer," Kerber said. "I think it's the best thing that could ever happen."

"What about global warming? There are a lot of things that kill people. Should we make all of them illegal?" Hainline said.
