The older Larry Farmer gets, the more he realizes and appreciates
what he was a part of during his college basketball career at UCLA.
The current Loyola of Chicago coach, whose team played ISU at
Redbird Arena on Saturday, was a part of the dynasty legendary Coach
John Wooden assembled at the Los Angeles-based campus.
During his three years on the varsity from 1970-73, Farmer and his
Bruin teammates posted an 89-1 record and won three straight national
championships.
"You don't know how special that experience was until afterwards,"
said the 53-year-old Farmer. "The older I get and the more I talk
with people, it is absolutely amazing how many people those teams
touched.
