Article: Green Party hopeful campaigns in county

BLOOMINGTON -- David Cobb, who's running for president of the United States, is proud that the cowboy boots he wears while campaigning are a bit worn.

"They've been in pastures and construction sites," said Cobb, a 41- year-old Texas native who hopes to win the Green Party nomination for president.

With worn boots and a slight Southern accent, Cobb on Thursday brought his campaign to McLean County.

Though he realizes his chance of wearing those boots in the Oval Office is slight, he said his campaign is all about the future of the Green Party, which supports peace, racial and social justice and attention to ecology.

"The goal of this campaign is to continue to grow the party," he said.
