Article: Brownlee to join Evansville Hall of Fame

NORMAL -- Illinois State baseball coach Jim Brownlee coached for 23 years and won 701 games at the University of Evansville before heading to Normal two seasons ago.

Because of that long, successful run with the Aces, Brownlee will be inducted into the University of Evansville Athletics Hall of Fame on Feb. 5 at Evansville, Ind.

The induction is the "greatest honor someone could receive," said Brownlee. "The only thing that could come close to this honor would be winning a national title.

"In a way it makes me feel old, but it's really a result of great assistant coaches and good players over the years. I'm very honored."
