There's four weeks left until Selection Sunday -- and Commissioner James Delany and those in the Big Ten Conference office are sweating it out.

The league figured to be different this season. Getting only three spots in last year's NCAA Tournament was supposed to be a blip. A freak. A one-time occurrence.

Maybe not.

No. 1-ranked Illinois, No. 13 Michigan State and No. 20 Wisconsin are far ahead of the pack -- and have been for the last couple years - - with the others lagging behind.

The dismissal of Iowa standout Pierre Pierce and Indiana's suicidal nonconference schedule could prevent those teams from gaining at-large NCAA tourney spots when pairings are announced on March 13.
