Picking the right cake
Brides are looking for something different but also want cakes
that taste good and fit their budget. Theknot.com, a wedding planning
site, offered these tips on getting started.
* Sample the cake. When you set up an appointment, ask for a
sample of the cake at room temperature, not just out of the fridge.
That way you can make sure the cake you choose will hold up after
it's been sitting out for a few hours.
* Buttercream or fondant? That is the main question. Buttercream
may taste better but if you like the smooth look of fondant, ask if
the cake can be frosted in buttercream first and a layer of fondant
added.
