Article: Pro leagues see good fit in Twin Cities United Hockey League team set for '06-07 season

BLOOMINGTON -- In slightly more than a year, it will be time to drop the puck on Bloomington's new professional hockey team.

United Hockey League president/CEO Richard Brosal announced Wednesday the league's Board of Governors has awarded an expansion franchise to Bloomington that will play in the U.S. Cellular Coliseum under construction in downtown Bloomington.

"The amount of time and effort put into this has been well worth it," Brosal said during a news conference at City Hall. "The addition of Bloomington is very positive based on the strength of the market and how it fits into our league geographically. A new facility and a new team will be great for the community."
