A 30-year-old assistant editor for The Washington Post was found
stabbed to death yesterday morning in his Northwest Washington
apartment, D.C. police said.
Paul Berg, of the 3400 block of 16th Street NW, was discovered by
4th District police officers about 9:46 a.m. in his first-floor
apartment at the Northbrook Condominium building, police said. He
was stabbed more than 15 times, police sources said.
Lt. Reginald Smith, a D.C. police spokesman, said the slaying is
under investigation and police have no suspects or motive. Berg
lived alone and police sources said that there were no signs of
forced entry into the apartment. A witness saw someone leave his
