Article: The Word King James Version of the Bible still holds its own after 395 years

FAIRBURY -- Harvey Schieler has nothing bad to sayabout church social programs. He's all for them. But for nearly 20 years, he has worked with fellow churchgoers on a basic premise: For all the social good that a church can offer, it also must emphasize the basic need of getting the Holy Bible into the people's hands.

And not just any Bible.

He and fellow Apostolic Christians on a distribution committee are devoted to the most enduring translation available: the King James Version.

Schieler works with the Fairbury/Forrest Bible Distribution Committee, a project of his own church, Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church, and its brethren church in Forrest.
