BENSON - A $200 million wind farm is set to bring 80 enormous turbines to the fields near Benson, where not everyone is a fan.

A special meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. June 13 at Roanoke-Benson Junior High School in Benson to discuss the proposed wind farm. Wanda Davies, project developer for Navitas Energy, will make a presentation.

Woodford County Administrator Greg Jackson said he expects mixed reactions from the public.

"Theyve got some concerns about the wind farm and aesthetics, but you also have farmers up there saying this is a great chance to make some money on some pieces of land that arent farmable," said Jackson.
