Article: Developing Immunity to Bees

Allergy shots against bee stings may not have to last a lifetime. So say Johns Hopkins University researchers who studied allergic reactions to stings from bees, wasps, hornets and yellow jackets during a 15-year period. Rather than having to face expensive injections forever, the researchers now believe, people sensitive to insect venom may find that five years of treatment are sufficient to develop their own immunity.
