If the Washington Capitals want to drive the New Jersey Devils
crazy tonight, all they have to do is talk about plans for their
September visit to the Soviet Union.
The Devils are seeing red over their relations with the Soviets.
Although defenseman Viacheslav Fetisov went home following the recent
NHL Super Series and joined center Igor Larionov in quitting the
Central Red Army team, he apparently is no closer to joining New
Jersey, despite the tireless efforts of General Manager Lou
Lamoriello.
The Devils, like the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers, were
prime candidates to make the initial NHL tour of the Soviet Union,
