We owe the English much-our language, many of our laws and
customs and, most recently, sporting clays.
Sporting clays, for years England's most popular shotgun game,
recently has been exported to these shores and this shooting sport is
growing by leaps.
Our two clay target games, skeet and trap, are moderately
challenging but, in truth, once mastered do not include many
variables. One only has to attend a local or national tournament to
understand that the programmed events are preliminaries to determine
who will break every target and then proceed to the main event, the
shoot-off.
Sporting clays, on the other hand, humbles the best shots;
shoot-offs are seldom necessary even in national ...
