Article: D.C. Nursing Home for AIDS Patients Opens; Facility Will Care for Those Not Sick Enough to Require Hospitalization

In a move that officials hope will ease the housing shortage for people with AIDS, the Whitman-Walker Clinic announced the opening yesterday of the area's first medical facility for AIDS patients who are too sick to live at home but not sick enough to be in the hospital.

The community residential facility-which was licensed last month by the D.C. government-will offer short-term nursing assistance for AIDS patients.
