Nearly 40 percent of children have some degree of allergies. Ranging from pollen and dust to pets or food, allergens are everywhere and affecting our children more than ever. While experts debate the reason for the increase in childhood allergies, one thing is certain: allergies are treatable if parents know what to look for.

Newborns and infants can develop and show signs of allergies. Food allergies are most common at this young age, especially as babies and toddlers are exposed to new foods. Chicken egg, milk, peanut and tree nut allergies are common in young children. Symptoms range from rashes and hives to vomiting and diarrhea.
