BAR HARBOR - After deciding that hotelier David Witham would not
have to include sidewalks in the parking lot of a proposed 71-room
inn on Main Street, the Bar Harbor planning board voted to continue
into next month a public hearing on Witham's proposal.
The delay is designed to give the developer more time to revise
his plans.
Members of the planning board debated with one another and with
Witham's attorney, James Patterson of Ellsworth, for roughly two
hours Thursday night about aspects of the proposed project before
agreeing to continue their debate at their next regular meeting,
April 17.
