CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Adam Lemieux hit a two-run homer in the top of
the 10th to give the University of Southern Maine a 9-6 baseball win
in its opener Thursday against Ripon College.
USM held off Amherst (Mass.) College in the second game 9-6.
Tyler Delorme had two home runs and a single for three RBIs while
Peter L'Italien had a homer, a double and a single for the Huskies in
the first game.
Nick Thoen led Ripon (Wis.) with two home runs for three RBIs
while Eric Roecker added a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the
ninth for the Red Hawks.
In the second game, righthander Ryan Adams pitched six strong
innings, allowing just four hits and one run, to lead the Huskies.
