Sue Tyler announced her resignation as the University of Maine's athletic director on Friday afternoon, and coaches, administrators, and friends gathered to send her off with a show of department-wide support.

Everyone said nice things about their boss, who had served for seven years. For the record, none of those things remotely resembled the things some had been saying behind her back for quite some time.

Wonder why? Despite the criticism on her leadership - usually offered up nebulously ... definitely not for publication with attribution ... nobody involved with UMaine athletics seems to dislike Sue Tyler, the person.
