Article: Required road work bedevils Acadia Crossing mall

ELLSWORTH - The power of eminent domain could become one of the issues that determine whether a proposed retail development in Ellsworth goes forward, according to officials.

John Corbett, a project manager with W/S Development, said Friday his company has been talking with the Maine Department of Transportation about the state's requirements for allowing the 200,000-square-foot, second phase of Acadia Crossing to go forward.

The main point now under discussion between his company and the DOT is the extent of the road improvements the agency will require W/ S Development to make if it builds the proposed strip mall on Myrick Street.
