Article: Bangor Comrades stay alive with victory over New Auburn

AUGUSTA - The matchup was an all-too-familiar one for the Bangor Comrades. Same opponent, same situation, same margin of victory.

This time around, however, it wasn't the same winning team.

Bangor came back from a three-run deficit in the sixth to edge New Auburn 9-8 in an American Legion State Tournament baseball elimination game on a hot and humid Monday afternoon at Morton Field.

The 22-7 Comrades will take on defending champ Nova Seafood of Portland in a 4 p.m. game Tuesday at McGuire Field. Nova is 26-2 and unbeaten in the tourney. New Auburn winds up 21-7.
