ELLSWORTH - Though people expressed support Tuesday for a plan in Hancock County to establish an anti-drug task force, they also urged county officials to help provide greater support for addicts trying to free themselves from the grip of drugs.

Approximately 70 people attended a public forum Tuesday night at Ellsworth High School to hear Hancock County officials describe their proposal to establish a three-person law enforcement team in Hancock County dedicated to fighting drugs full time.

Many at the forum said they supported doing more to combat the prevalence of drugs in the county, but they questioned whether increased law enforcement would be enough to address the many- faceted problem ...
