ORONO - Move over, loon and lobster. A new specialty license plate is on the horizon, featuring a roaring black bear and "The University of Maine."

As of Nov. 3, Mainers will be able to buy the new University of Maine license plates that were unveiled Friday at the Buchanan Alumni House on campus. Technically, the plates go on sale Nov. 1, but that is a Saturday, and most municipal offices where they can be found will not be open.
