Article: Hancock County wants state to fund drug task force

ELLSWORTH - Hancock County officials have decided to go all the way to the governor's mansion to get state funding for the only county drug task force in Maine.

County officials and municipal police chiefs met Tuesday night with members of the county's state legislative delegation, and with some of their opponents in the general election this fall, to try and win support for getting the state to fund the county initiative starting in 2006. State funding for the task force is not available before then because of the state's two-year budget cycle.
