Article: Hanukkah lights up Blaine House

AUGUSTA - Light and warmth are the hallmarks of Hanukkah. Both were found in abundance at the Blaine House Thursday night at the annual celebration of the Jewish holiday.

Five rabbis were on hand to oversee the lighting of the candles and lead in song Gov. John Baldacci, first lady Karen Baldacci, the Israel consul for New England and more than 100 of the state's Jewish community to celebrate the third night of the Festival of Lights.
