Louisiana couple finds refuge in Fort Fairfield

FORT FAIRFIELD - For Josiah Leighton, answering questions about Hurricane Katrina is no problem.

The 27-year-old Fort Fairfield native can tell you all about the buildings with their front and back walls torn out by huge waves of water, he can talk about the sharks gliding through flooded streets, and he can describe the mold growing on everything in sight.

But ask him about what he's going to do next, and he can't tell you. He and his girlfriend, Rose Webb, 22, are just glad to be in a safe place.
