Perry selectmen dispense with minutes

PERRY - By law, selectmen don't have to keep minutes, but if residents are looking for an official record of a selectmen's meeting, they're not going to find it anytime soon.

The selectmen have decided minutes aren't needed.

After some debate Monday night, and some finger-pointing that included accusations that previous minutes were not correct, two of the three selectmen voted to do away with them. The third voted against the motion.

But the vote really doesn't matter now that the selectmen have voted not to keep minutes; there will be no official record of that motion.
