TRESCOTT - The Cobscook Community Learning Center has a specific
goal - raising about $25,000 more - and a looming deadline, the end
of June.
While the artists and educators who created the learning community
that serves the Cobscook Bay region of eastern Washington County
aren't sweating the budget yet, neither are they taking this latest
fundraising lightly.
Five years in the planning, with one building operational so far,
the nonprofit learning center organizers are ready to construct a
second building on the campus. Getting "the Commons" up would double
their programs and learning possibilities immediately.
The new building will take $300,000 in Community Development Block
Grant funds. ...
