Lady Bing called the other day to ask whether anyone would be
interested in photographing Sir Rudolf in his new smoking jacket with
his little pup, Bingo.
Carroll Douglass Bing, 48, the Washington-born woman who now
calls herself Lady Bing, was speaking from a phone booth at the
Christian Science Reading Room, where she spends every afternoon.
That routine began last spring, when a judge here ordered her to
vacate the couple's cramped Essex House apartment for six hours a day
so her 87-year-old husband could nap in peace.
But before any pictures, Lady Bing said, she wanted to take
Bingo, a shaggy white-haired Maltese, to Pedigree Pups for a shampoo
and comb.
