Article: Auction nets $2,000 for health services

HOULTON - Silence proved to be golden for the Houlton Regional Health Services Foundation as the organization's recent silent art auction raised more than $2,000 towards its goal of purchasing nuclear medicine equipment for Houlton Regional Hospital.

The foundation partnered with Visions, located on Main Street, for the event that wrapped up last week. Painters, photographers and furniture makers exhibited their wares at the art gallery throughout November.

More than 30 artists exhibited approximately 60 pieces during the show.

In addition to the different media on display, barrels from Bradbury Barrel Co. of Bridgewater also were included in the show.
