Article: Pittsfield expansion projects OK'd Hancock Lumber, Central Maine Golf Carts, Cianbro given approval

PITTSFIELD - Town planners approved three business expansion projects Monday night.

Hancock Lumber will be shifting its lumber storage facility to the west side of its property, John Pratte told the Pittsfield planning board.

"We have been slowly upgrading our facility over the past few years," Pratte said. "This move will increase our efficiency and decrease congestion."

Hancock's application called for the construction of two new storage buildings that will allow for lumber to be out of the weather. "As we increase our production, this is the necessary next step," Pratte said. The buildings will be constructed where logs are now stored, he said.
