Article: Links With Developers Spotlighted by P.G. Bill; Council Members Deny Being Influenced

A proposal by state senators last week that would deprive Prince George's County Council members of campaign contributions from developers has pushed into the open what has been whispered for years by disgruntled civic leaders. They complain that council members are too cozy with developers and the lawyers who represent them.

For their part, senators from the county say they are interested only in ensuring ethical behavior by council members, who, under the proposed legislation, would have to refrain from voting on zoning issues affecting people who give them hundreds of dollars in campaign contributions.
