Article: Bangor police officer succumbs to cancer

BANGOR - Randall Parsons was not only an officer with the Bangor Police Department, he was a family member.

He died Wednesday at the age of 39 from complications due to cancer.

"Without a doubt, Randall was one of the finest officers this department has seen," Deputy Chief Peter Arno said Thursday. "The Bangor Police Department and the city of Bangor suffered a tremendous loss with Randall's death."

His funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday at the Calvary Chapel Church in Orrington, and all of his public safety brothers- and sisters-in- arms are asked to muster at noon in the old Eastern Fine Paper Co. parking lot on South Main Street.
