It could be weeks before officials determine if it truly was the
world's biggest, but the buffet held Saturday at the Holmes County
Amish Flea Market was definitely big, and so was the crowd of hungry
guests who came to enjoy it.
By about noon, some 300 different dishes had been brought to the
buffet. The number to beat was 510, according to Elaine Straley,
regional internship coordinator for the Ohio Restaurant Association.
That record was set last year at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Dish after dish of meatballs, pasta, beef, ham, mashed potatoes
and much more lined the inside of the building.
