DALTON -- Hillsdale's softball team threatened to run away with the Wayne County Athletic League championship Tuesday.

That's before threatening weather moved into Wayne County and halted the Falcons' push toward a two-game lead at the midway point.

A lightning delay turned into a postponement of Hillsdale's game at Dalton Tuesday, with the Falcons leading the Bulldogs 1-0 and two down in the bottom half of the fifth inning -- one out from being an "official" game. No conclusion date has been announced.

"We're not going to do the doubleheader thing when we go over there (May 7)," Dalton coach Jessica Miller said. "We want to keep that home-field ...
