MILLERSBURG -- After a four-year battle against a tax measure that
threatened to bankrupt Holmes County, Commissioner Dave Hall is ready
to take down the framed newspaper articles he has.
The articles are hanging in his office and serve as a reminder of
the threat a streamline sales tax is for the small county, he said, a
threat state Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Lakeville, told the commissioners has
ended with the Governing Board of the Multi State Streamline Sales
Tax Project rejecting the Ohio amendment.
"The bottom line is that more businesses here in Holmes County or
in Ohio no longer have to switch to destination sourcing," Gibbs said
at the county commissioners' meeting ...
