'Trinity' will be the program's centerpiece

DAYTON - Dermot Burke does have connections.

But what he knows was just as crucial to landing Trinity as who he knows.

The Dayton Ballet will become the first company besides the Joffrey Ballet to perform the landmark work by Gerald Arpino in performances Thursday through next Sunday at the Victoria Theatre.

Burke, who will be recognized on the program headlined `Celebration' for his 10th anniversary as Dayton Ballet executive director, danced in the 1970 premiere of Trinity in Berkeley, Calif., on the edge of America's last great ballet boom.

This week's performances will forge connections between then and now.
