E-mail correspondent visits middle school

SIDNEY - Never underestimate the power of a dream.

That was the lesson Army Ranger Capt. Mitch Carlisle delivered Wednesday to students in Patricia McKay's fifth-grade class at Northwood Middle School. On leave between assignments, Carlisle visited the students with whom he has been corresponding via e-mail since the beginning of the school year.

A 1994 Sidney High School graduate and former Northwood student himself, Carlisle talked with students about living the dream he had envisioned for himself when he was their age.
