Grand champion junior high team and high school team advance to state Science Olympiad

PIQUA - Thirty-three schools participated in the 16th annual Regional Science Olympiad in Piqua on the campuses of its junior and senior high schools.

The top five high school and six junior high school teams earned the chance to compete April 20 at the state Science Olympiad tournament at Ohio State University in Columbus.

Piqua Junior High School and Centerville High School were the grand champions of the regional tournament, an event that tested students' engineering skills and knowledge of science in areas such as cell biology, earth science, bridge building and robot construction.
